| 44 Caliber; 40% blue, very good bore, good grips, 7.5'' barrel, Double action hammerless percussion revolver mfr c.1861-1863, only 3400 total produced. Blued finish with walnut grips. No U.S. inspection markiings. Octagon barrel with cone shaped sight. Solid frame with 6-shot cylinder. Matching serial number cylinder. Stamped on the frames topstrap, right of the sight notch "PETTENGILLS/PATENT 1856" and at the left of the sight notch "RAYMOND & ROBITAILLE/PATENTED 1858". Stamped on the bottom of the frame "PATENTED/NOV. 4 1862". Metal has turned smooth patina in areas of blue loss. Scattered light surface spotting. Minor chipping on the bottom edges of the grips. Mechanically in fine conditon. The bore is bright and sharp. Antique., s/n 17xx |
