| 14mm; fair bore, fair stock, 33'' barrel, Needlefire bolt action rifle Cal.14 mm. 33 inch round barrel with octagonal chamber. Fixed front sight. Fixed rear sight with folding ladder, one standing and one folding leaf. "Crown/F.W." stamped on left side of barrel chamber. Imperial proofs and number "9778" on right chamber and receiver. Visible serial numbers are matching. "Eagle/DANZIG/Z:G:Mod:62" stamped on left receiver. Metal finished in the white. Walnut stock with 3 brass barrel bands. Steel buttplate. Orig cleaning rod. Provenance: From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Condition: Good. Metal is in the white with scattered corrosion and light pitting overall. Wood has typical dings, scuffs and gouges and has been repaired by splicing on the upper 15 inches of the forend. Front bbl band retainer is missing. Bore has strong rifling with corrosion along the lands and some light pitting. Mechanicaly needs attention, bolt may be assembled incorrectly. Antique, s/n 60xx |
