Description:
30 Luger; 70% blue, 30% straw, very good bore, good grips, 4.75'' barrel, Rare originally un-numbered DWM GL prototype or possible presentation model 1900 Luger pistol. 4-3/4 inch .30 Cal. barrel. "DWM" scroll on center toggle link. Dished toggles. Script "GL" on rear toggle link. No other external markings or proof marks and no internal parts numbering. Serial 6A was applied for importation. Grip safety. Plain wood bottom magazine. This gun is the same configuration as the 1900 U.S. test trials guns, and this may have been a prototype for that series. This gun is featured on page 283 of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess "The Borchardt & Luger Automatic Pistols". Provenance: From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Condition: Retains 70% original blue finish which has thinned and dulled and 30% original straw. Grips are lightly worn with a small area of compression on the left grip. Magazine is very good with a dent in the body. Mechanically fine. BS C&R/FFL, s/n 6A, Catalog Number D-101
