| 9mm Luger; 80% blue, 25% straw, fair bore, good grips, 4'' barrel, A 1920 commercial converted for military issue. Caliber 9m/m 4 inch barrel with "S/42" and 4-digit s/n on bottom next to a nazi eagle proof. DWM scroll on center toggle link. Vertical crown/N and 4-digit s/n on left receiver. Eagle/HZaJt18 (mark of inspector No.18, Heereszeugamt Jngolstadt ) next to "Su/38" (Inspector No.38, Spandau Arsenal) on right receiver. Military serial number placement added with existing matching commercial serial numbering. All numbered part are matching. Checkered walnut grips. Un-numbered wood bottom magazine with an Erfurt proof at the rear of the base. This pistol is featured on page 476 of the book "Borchardt & Luger Automatic Pistols" by Joachim Gortz and Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Good condition with some scattered corrosion and light pitting. Grip straps are fading to brown. Strawed color on the small parts is brighter on the right side. Grips are lightly worn and oil soaked. Wood grain is barely visible. Magazine has spots of corrosion on body and a repaired crack across the rear of the base. Bore shows some wear with light pitting throughout. Mechanics are fine. Import marked on the bottom of the frame. C&R/FFL, s/n 17xxr, Catalog Number D-240 |
