| 7.62x54mmR; 90% blue, very good bore, good stock, 29'' barrel, The Finnish M/30 experimental target rifles, of which very limited numbers were ever assembled, were built for military target shooting and marksmanship training. There was quite a variety of variants, each hand built, using Mauser actions of both small and large ring types. This particular rifle was built on a German Kar98 small ring action, which retains the crown/Erfurt 1918 date and German Imperial proofs and acceptance marks. Fitted into a German Gew98 walnut stock, having faint Imperial proofs on the right side of the butt below the marking disc. A 13 inch walnut handguard is fitted. The actions matching trigger guard and floorplate were retained. The straight handled bolt is not matching. The action is fitted to a Finnish produced heavy profile barrel chambered for the 7.62x54mmR cartridges. Tunnel front sight with aperture. An aperture rear target sight is mounted on the right side of the receiver bridge and is manually adjusted with a locking bar. The sight is stamped on the top "S.A.L." and has a serial number 1070. The barrel is not marked externally or under the handguard. Overall the rifle shows some finish thinning mainly on the receiver and handling marks on the wood. The bore is bright with sharp rifling.
