| World War 2 vintage "trench art" ashtray, made using a German 75Pak40 shell base which has been nickel plated, a German 20mm Flak38 shell base which holds a spring steel cigarette pack holder. 5 8mm rifle bullets attached for use as a cigarette holder, originally 6 were used but one is missing. The spring steel pack holder has decals or painted markings which are worn and hard to read. On one side is an eagle over a star borderd spoked wheel. The other side is marked "SOUVENIR 53rd QM Base Depot / and Associated Units, Bavaria Germany 25 December 19, the rest of the date illegible. Nickel plate finish is worn. German markings and proofs on the shell bases are legible. |
