9.3mm; 92% blue, excellent bore, very good stock, 28'' barrel, Single shot bolt action Sporting/Target rifle based on the M/1871 rifles of the period. Blued finish octagonal barrel with gold inlay wire at muzzle and chamber. Key adjustable front sight, key adjustable for windage and elevation rear sight, with graduations on the left side for 100, 175 and 300 meters. The top of the barrel is dovetailed for 5.5 inches for rear sight relief adjustment as well. Gold inlaid on top of the barrel with the maker "H. SIEBOLD in KOSEN". Receiver and tang in the white, fully engraved with floral leaf patterns. The tang has an integral base for a sight. Ornate trigger guard in the white with floral and shell pattern engraving, game scene of a deer at rest on the bottom of the trigger guard bow. Blued finish rear trigger guard tang with a bone grip. Set triggers. Rifle is mounted in a walnut stock with a checkered grip and right hand cheekrest, side flats, forend held with a single wedge. Serial numbered on the toe of the flat steel buttplate which has an engraved tang and screw borders.. The barrel is fitted with two pipes for a clearing rod, which is missing. Upper 7/8 inch wide sling swivel mounted to the lower pipe, the stock has a sling button on the bottom. Overall this rifle is in very good plus condition showing some even thinning on the barrel finish, sharp edge and handling wear. The stock has small dings and handling marks overall, nothing heavy. Mechanically in fine condition and the bore is bright and sharp. Chambering: The exact chambering of this rifle is not determined. A guess is 9.5x47Rmm, however the chambering will need to be determined by a competent gunsmith if the rifle is to be used. The opening in the action with the bolt fully rearward measures approximately 50.6 millimeters. And at bore at the muzzle approximately 9.32 millimeters. Antique, s/n 11xx
