| 70% blue, poor bore, poor stock, 36'' barrel, THIS MUSKET STARTED OUT AS A MODEL 1803 FLINTLOCK THAT WAS LATER CONVERTED TO A PERCUSSION LOCK IN POOR OVERALL CONDITION. THE HALF OCTAGON, HALF ROUND BARREL RETAINS APPROX 70% OF ITS BROWN FINISH AND HAS A DISTICNTIVE RIB BELOW THE BARREL. THE BORE SHOWS CORROSION THROUGHOUT. THE LOCKPLATE IS MARKED HARPERS FERRY 1818 EAGLE WITH ITS PRIOR FLASHPAN REMOVED DURING THE CONVERSION. THE STOCK IS CRACKED THRU UNDER THE LOCK PLATE ALONG WITH 4 CRACKS ON THE CORRESPONDING LEFT SIDE. THE FORESTOCK IS SEVERLY CRACKED ON THE RIGHT SIDE HELD TOGETHER WITH WIRE. THE RIGHT BUTT HAS A BRASS PATCH BOX. THE ACTION IS FUNCTIONAL. |
