| 54 Cal; very good bore, good stock, 33'' barrel, Round barrel has been cleaned bright with spitting over all. Brass mounted walnut stock. 7 groove rifled barrel. 3rd Alteration variant, iron fixed front sight, 1855 pattern military ladder rear sight. Reproofed in 1859 with WCK (William C. Keely) inspector marks on the right side of the barrel and on the left side stock flat. Lock is marked with the Eagle motif over "US". Rear of the lock stamped vertically "HARPERS/FERRY/1850". V P Eagleshead proofs over the left side of the barrel. Original brass tipped ramrod. Lug mounted on right side of barrel for sabre bayonet. The lock functions fine. Antique, |
