| 360; 90% blue, very good bore, good stock, 29.5'' barrel, Estimated manufacture ca.1891. The exact model and chambering of this rifle is not known, an assumption is 9x47R which is a chambering offered in the Small Nr.33 type rolling block actions, but not listed for the larger actions in the information I have. In any case the chamber will need to be cast by a competent gunsmith to determine the chambering as we do not have proper cartridges to check. Original blued finish full ocatgon barrel with fixed front sight and a fixed rear sight with one standing and two folding leafs. Casehardened commercial rolling block action with centerfire breechblock. Walnut full length forend with bone cap, held with two wedges. Walnut checkered English style straight grip buttstock with cheekrest. Matching serial numbers on tangs, wedges, forend and buttstock. Cleaning rod is a replacement, held with three pipes. Overall this is a nice rifle showing fairly light handling, however there is damage on the right side upper forend and barrel, gouged edge of the stock with deep gouges on the barrel. The bore is bright with strong rifling, having scattered dark spots which may be pitted areas. The action functions well., s/n 107xx |
