| 6.5x52mm; 80% blue, good bore, good stock, 34'' barrel, O Italian Vetterli-Vitali Model 1870/87/15 6.5mm bolt action rifle, Torino dated 1873, The front sight is a blade and the rear is a tangent style graduated to 2000 meters. Originally chambered in 10.4 mm, it was converted to 6.5x52 for secondary issue in WW I. Likely a re-stock when the 1887 conversion to box magazine took place. The 1915 modification involved sleeving the barrel from 10.4mm to 6.5mm for use in WWI. These were primarily left behind for the Home Guard. The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces retain most of the old arsenal re-finish mixed with smooth patina. The full-length walnut stock is in fair with numerous dings and dents and has rack numbers in the buttstock Small nicks and dings here and there as to be expected. NO cracks or significant damage. The action works fine., but the magazine is missing. ANTIQUE, s/n C88xx |
