| Signed and marked thin cotton material flag from the Japanese 85th Fighter Group, 2nd Wing, 16th Squadron. Measures approx 40" X 27". Includes consignor provided information on translation: "Lieutenant Colonel Natsuhira Kinzaburo,. An auspicious day in March 1944", with names: Takeda Toya, Takada Kenichi, Kamida Mitsuya, Akimoto Akira, Yoshida Susumu, Haramoto Sadao, Taguchi Kazukichi, and Okada Masao. The Hinomaru (red ball) is decorated with an on-coming aircraft which appears to replicate a "Zeke" fighter. The flag has soiling and fold marks and the gold foil material corner cord reinforcements at one end are worn. No major damage, holes, rips ar tears. |
