| 54 Caliber; very good+ bore, good stock, 24.25'' barrel, E. Remington manufacture, dated 1847. 1,000 produced with the tape primer system. Browned finish round rifled barrel. Casehardened lockplate. Brass mounted walnut stock with strong inspector cartouche on the left side. Stamped on the lockplate "REMINGTON'S/HERKIMER/N.Y.". Stamped on top of the barrel knox "W. JENKS" and "U.S.N./RP/P/1847/CAST-STEEL". Lock and lever function well. Wood shows handling. Bore is bright and strong. Antique. |
