| 52 Rimfire; 80% blue, fair bore, good stock, 22'' barrel, Original blued finish mixing with patina. Round barrel with fixed front sight and three leaf rear sight. Casehardened lockplate marked "JOSLYN FIRE ARMS CO/STONINGTON/CONN" without date so likely a private purchase carbine. Walnut stock with single iron barrel band. Buttplate tang "U.S." stamped. Wood shows handling, tiny chip at the tip of the upper tang, small sliver of missing wood along the right side of the barrel at the chamber area. Brass rack tag attached to the saddle ring. Action functions well. The bore has shine and strong rifling, having areas of pitting. Antique., s/n 48xx |
