| 44 russian; 98% blue, excellent bore, excellent grips, 10'' barrel, A spectacular pair of Sauer & Son dueling pistols, cased with accessories, breech loading 44 Russian caliber, in mint unfired condition. A special order in 1903 for Dr. Wood McMurty, New York. The quality of the fit, finish, and engraving is as good, or better, as I have ever seen on firearms. This model of cartridge pistol was offered by Sauer on special order as an example of Sauer's finest quality work. Very few were made and most Sauer enthusiasts have not seen this model. Adjustable target sights, double underlugs, set triggers, overall 16", barrel length 10", pop-off forends--2 second disassembly, oak and leather French fitted case scuffed and worn outside, but inside is like new. Accessories are unused. An original tag inside attached to keys implies these were ordered as "Dueling" pistols, with Sauer's logo (cartouche) in solid gold on each pistol.
