| 32 Caliber; fair bore, fair stock, 35.5'' barrel, Percussion half stock rifle with heavy octagon barrel. Exact age unknown. Curly maple stock with brass fittings, brass toe plate. Trigger guard has been replaced, having a shorter front tang. Set triggers. Pewter forend tip. Fixed sights. Hammer and lockplate with matching simple English scroll engraving. There are no legible makers marks or initials. The metal parts have been cleaned, with light pitting on the barrel and pitting at the bolster, the bolster and nipple appear to be newer replacements. The stock has been sanded and has an old repair to a crack around the top of the wrist, a screwed on plate and small nails. Movement can be forced at the repair. The lock and triggers function fine. Bore has corrosion, prominent rifling. |
