| 303 British; 80% blue, excellent bore, very good stock, 25.25'' barrel, Australian phosphate finish, stocked in walnut. Originally a British No.1 rifle, marked on the right butt socket with the Royal crown "GR/1918/Sht.L.E./III*". Australian D/i\D marked on the left side of the receiver ring along with a 1941 date. "Australian rebuild marked on the left buttsocket "MA56" with FTR stamped above the serial number on the right side of the receiver ring. Mix of Australian, Indian and British mfr parts. Matching serial numbers on the bolt, nosecap, forend, magazine and rear sight leaf. The forend and Long buttstock are Indian mfr. This SMLE has seen service with 3 countries. Import marked on the left side of the receiver. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. Included with the rifle is a 50 round cloth bandoleer of Radway Green 1950 dated ball ammunition on 5 round chargers and 10 rounds of POF 1961 ball ammunition on 5 round chargers. The inspected rounds are clean., s/n 640xx |
