| 303 British; 60% blue, good bore, good stock, 25.25'' barrel, Conversion to MKI/3, original markings have been scrubbed, FTR 1954 marked on left side of receiver. Mixed finish, with traces of black paint. Walnut normal length butt, beechwood forend and lower handguard, walnut upper handguard. Mixed manufacture parts, most of British mfr. MKII stamped adjustable rear sight, missing the stop pin and slider spring. Stacking swivel added to upper band. Blue web sling attached. Broad arrow and 1954 date on right side of buttsocket. Shows possible issue in India, with the lower band having holes on each side and stock relieved at the band for grenade sight attachement. The magazine is a No1 box mag converted to fit the No.4 action. Mis-matched bolt with number 1 marked bolt head. CAI import marked on end of barrel. Rifle shows use and handling, pitting on the trigger guard. The bore is frosted, rifling is strong and muzzle is snug, using a 30 caliber muzzle gauge shows .303 in., s/n A457xx |
