| 8x57mm; 85% blue, very good bore, poor stock, 23.5'' barrel, Not an original K98k High Turret snipers rifle, build up from parts. Blued finish. Laminated wood stock with a hardwood handguard. No takedown disc. Cupped buttplate w/o hole, gqm/44 code marked. Matching bolt with eagle/63 proofed shank. Other numbered parts are force matched, to include the scope bases and rings. Various proofs. No-matching rear sight assembly. Repro leather sling. Stamped trigger guard/floorplate. Solid upper band. Berth & Neumann Jena 4 1/2X scope mounted, the scope has a pointer/crossbars reticle with good but yellowed optics. Stock has no legible markings and is broken around the top of the wrist with a crack behind the receiver tang running to the comb. Sliver of wood missing along the right side of the receiver tang. The bore is semi-bright with strong rifling, slight darkness along the grooves. No import markings found. Restocked, this would be a good rifle for re-enacting., s/n 79xxy |
