| 9x19mm; 98% blue, excellent bore, very good grips, 4 7/8'' barrel, Mystery P.38 pistol that was likely a slapped together gun from parts after the war, but possibly a late war assembly for issue to the Volkssturm. Obviously never saw much if any use. Original blued finish with the exception of the barrel assembly wihich has possibly been refinished. The frame is stamped on the left side with the serial number 8533u, and the left side of the frame under the grip is stamped "/152". There are no proofs or other markings. Late serrated hammer. Dark mottled brown bakelite left grip with 6 open lines, dark brown (nearly black) right grip with 5 open lines. The slide is stamped on the left side "P.38" and "byf/44", with no proofs or other markings. The barrel is Spreewerke mfr and has a non-maching serial number "0365". The left side of the lug stamped "cyq" with an eagle/88 proof. The locking block is electro-penciled with a number matching the barrel and is stamped with an eagle/88 proof and eagle/swaz military acceptance mark. The magazine is a late Spreewerke mag stamped on the left side with the large "P38/U" and on the spine with "jvd" code and an eagle/WaA706 proof. Mechanically fine with a bright sharp bore. We imported this pistol from Sweden and it bears our import mark., s/n 85xx |
