| 16 Gauge; good bore, good stock, 29.25'' barrel, Manufactured in France circa 1860s. Browned damascus barrels, bright lockplates, fancy walnut stock with fine checkering and scroll leaf carving, silver halmarked trigger guard and buttplate. Forend with single wedge. Cleaning rod is probable later replacement. Chokes gauge Modified. Actions function well. Engrave marked on top of the barrel on the smooth rib "MERLEY FRAISSE". Both barrels have a large illegible name/wording in bright blued inlay. Silver sheild inlay on top of the stock wrist with a previous owners initial engraved "K.E.K." A very high grade shotgun for the time period. Antique, s/n 2xx |
