| 44-40 CAL; fair bore, good grips, 3.25'' barrel, Late production with frame topstrap and "birdshead" butt. Factory nickel finish remains at approximtely 70% with loss on cylinder, trigger guard and edges. Factory engraved with floral leaf and vine punch dot, elk game scene on left side of frame. Original genuine pearl grips. Non-matching 44-40 cylinder. Markings on left side of barrel "HOPKINS & ALLEN M'F'G' CO. NORWICH CONN. U.S.A." followed by patent dates from 1874-1877. Left side of frame below the cylinder is marked "CALIBRE/WINCHESTER 1873". Right side of frame is marked "MERWIN. HULBERT & CO. N.Y./POCKET ARMY". There is scattered minor pitting along some of the edges and on the trigger guard, overall light pitting on the cylinder. The bore has good rifling, however shows corrosion throughout.
