| 22 LR CAL; 85% blue, excellent bore, very good stock, 24.5'' barrel, Polish conversion from a Kbk. Wz98 Mauser service rifle to a single shot training rifle. Original blued finish, mounted in a walnut stock and handguard. Numbered parts are matching except the bolt shroud, safety and cocking piece. Stamped on top of the receiver with the Polish pheonix crest over "P.F.K. / WARSZAWA / 1930". Stamped on the left side of the receiver "K98". Original fixed front sight, tangent rear sight with standard graduations. Poland was one of the first countries in Europe to standardize military training for their armed services after WW1. At first using converted service rifles until beginning production of dedicated 22 training rifles circa early1930's. The magazine well is fitted with a loading tray. From the collection of Robert Simpson, this rifle is pictured in the book "Training Rifles of Third Reich Germany" on page 606., Training Rifles of Third Reich Germany pp 606, s/n 58xx |
