| 9mm Luger; 95% blue, 20% straw, fair bore, good grips, 4'' barrel, First pattern 1908 military without stock lug or hold open. 9m/m caliber with 4 inch barrel with full s/n on bottom and Imperial proof on left side. DWM scroll on center toggle link. Checkered walnut grips. Numbered parts are matching except the magazine. Manufactured in 1910, with blank chamber, this is on of the last first pattern 1908 military P.08's produced without the chamber date and with the twin Imperial inspection marks and proof eagle on the left side of the receiver. The frame remains in original configuration without hold open machining. Proper wood bottom magazine with early large digit vertical numbering serial numbered 6627. This pistol is featured on pages 483, 571 and 1101 of the book "Borchardt & Luger Automatic Pistols" by Joachim Gortz and Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Fine over all condition, with scattered light corrosion and normal wear over all. 20% original straw color on the small parts that is fading to brown. Fine checkered grips are oil soaked and lightly worn with wood grain still visible, the left grip has a small chip of wood missing under the safety lever. Magazine body is corroded and there is a crack running through the wood bottom with small chips on the left side ring. Bore shows some wear with light pitting throughout. Mechanics are fine.
