| 42 Cal; poor bore, poor grips, 5 7/8'' barrel, This WAS a Plant's Manufacturing Co. 3rd model front loading revolver made circa 1864-1865. The gun has been roughly converted to single shot by cutting the brass frame, discarding the cylinder and moving the front part and barrel back, attaching to the rear frame using a nut. The nut now on the gun is a replacement. Missing the trigger and it's pin. Original wood grips, both chipped at the lower rear corners of the butt. Octagon barrel with rib, marked on top of the rib "PLANT'S MFG. CO. NEW HAVEN CT." and on the left side "MERWIN & BRAY. NEW-YORK". The barrel has not locking mechanism. SOLD AS IS as a curiosity.
