| 12 Gauge; very good bore, good stock, 30'' barrel, Single barrel 12 bore shotgun manufactured by R. Alger & Sons of Newport. Damascus barrel with 2 1/2" chamber, chokes gauges Cylinder. Backlock action, frame and lockplate with simple scroll and border engraving, fowl scene on the lock. Checkered walnut stock and forend. Serrated horn buttplate. Screw held forend with horn tip. Stock has some fitting issue at the frame and around the tangs. The upper tang has had some filing work done to clean up a protruding screw from what it looks like. Bore is bright and smooth and the lock functions fine, good barrel lockup. Antique., s/n 13 |
