| 38 Centerfire; 50% blue, very good bore, good grips, 7 3/8'' barrel, Converted by Remington for the U.S. Navy in 1875. Original blued finish, surface rust spotting overall. Brass trigger guard. Plain walnut grips, the right panel stamped with what appears to be "S58". Octagon barrel with cone shaped sight, stamped on the top "PATENTED SPET. 14. 1858/E. REMINGTON & SONS ILION. NEW YORK. U.S.A.", markings a bit light. Revolver is fitted with a ejector rod and loading gate. Inspector initial B stamped on the right side of the frame and barrel. Small crack on the bottom of the right grip panel. The action functions well. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Antique., s/n 223xx |
