| 54 Caliber; fair bore, good stock, 33'' barrel, Lockplate marked "REMINGTON'S/HERKIMER/N.Y." with the date U.S./1849 at the rear of the lock. 1849 date stamped on the barrel tang. Left side of the barrel stamped "STEEL", and on top "U.S./A.D.K./P". Blued finish rifled round barrel mixing with patina, fixed sights. Brass mounted walnut stock. Lower band stamped on top "H/49". No legible markings on the stock. Lockplate has some dark spotting. Lock functions well. Extra nipple and nipple wrench inside the patchbox on the right side of the butt. The bore has strong rifling, surface rusty throughout. Antique. Includes an original bayonet in good condition. |
