| 44 Centerfire; 40% blue, fair bore, good grips, 8'' barrel, Post Civil War conversion to metallic centerfire cartridge. Blued finish, brass trigger guard, plain walnut grip with CWA inspector cartouche on the left grip. Octagon barrel with fixed sight and ejector rod fitted. Stamped on the top "PATENTED SEPT. 14. 1858/E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION. NEW YORK. U.S.A./NEW-MODEL". US inspector initials stamped on some parts. 6-shot cylinder. Missing the spring screw in the front grip strap. Metal finish is mostly patina with some original blue remaining. Light surface spotting overall, some minor pitting on the frame. The action functions fine. Bore has shine and strong rifling, corrosion throughout. Antque., s/n 985xx |
