| 43 Egyptian; fair bore, fair stock, 35'' barrel, Egyptian contract No.1 Rolling Block rifle showing substaintial wear from nearly a century of hard use in desert climates. Patina metal with worn edges, rounded edge around the muzzle. Walnut stock is worn and dry. Several arabic markings on top of the barrels chamber, some cancelled. The left side of the action has a Turkish Crescent moon marking. None of the Remington markings are visible on top of the upper tang. The leather sling attached is similar to the British pattern for Lee Enfield rifles, having a 6" extension sewn on one end. Stock has slivers and cracks on edges of the forend. The action functions however the main spring is weak with worn notches. Bore has strong rifling, however has pitting and corrosion throughout. Antique., s/n 22xx |
