| 16 Ga/7x65R; 80% blue, very good bore, good stock, 20.75'' barrel, Manufactured in Germany, dated June 1941. Period eagle/N proofs. Blue finish barrel with twist off scope mounts installed, casehardened frame and mounted in checkered walnut. 2 9/16 inch shotgun chambers with both chokes guaging Cylinder. The barrels appear to have been shortened to length with the muzzle end re-hatched. The barrel is fitted with a replacement high visibility front sight and a drift adjustable rear sight. Features a Greener style crossbolt, extractors, top mounted cocking indicators for the shotgun barrels, front set double triggers (the small adjustment screw is missing on the front trigger) with a bone trigger guard, safety lever located on the left side of the frame, latch release forearm and a full grip stock with cheekrest. The stock is fitted with a solid rubber pad, LOP is 14.25 inches. The gun has a more modern Hensoldt Wetzlar Diavari D 1.5-6X scope mounted with a fine pointer/crosshair reticle and excellent optics. The barrels have been refinished at some point, now showing wear and handling, over scattered minor to moderate pitting. The frame is mostly bright, with an area of light corrosion on the right lower edge. The wood has dings and scuffs overall, with a small wedge inserted on the left side flat behind the frame to stabilize a minor crack. Mechanically fine with tight lockup. The bores are a bit dirty and the rifle bore shows some frosting in the grooves. C&R/FFL, s/n 66xx |
