| 52 Caliber; 40% blue, excellent bore, very good+ stock, 21'' barrel, This is an excellent example of a New Model 1863 Military Vertical Breech Carbine in .52 caliber. Has a nice aged patina on most the metal components. Bright bore has clear lands and grooves. Steel blade front sight and Lawrence Patent ladder rear sight. Marked on left side of breech, “RSL”. Marked on left side of receiver. “C.SHARPS’ PAT / SEPT 12TH 1848”, ON THE RIGHT SIDE WITH, “R.S.LAWRENCE PAT / APRIL 12TH 1859”, AND “C.SHARPS’ PAT / OCT 5TH 1852”. Steel buttplate has moderate pitting. Wood shows mild handling / storage wear. ANTIQUE., s/n 311xx |
