| 50-70 Caliber; 85% blue, good bore, good stock, Post Civil War conversion to 50-70 CF, blued finish round barrel with 3 groove rifling. Fixed front sight, RS Lawrence marked rear ladder sight. Stamped on top of the barrel chamber with legible "NEW MODEL", remaining markings on the barrel are illegible or faint due to refinishing when the carbines were reworked. Casehardened frame with traces of color, marked on the lockplate "R.S. LAWRENCE PAT./APRIL 12TH 1859" and "C. SHARPS PAT./OCT. 5TH 1852". Serial numbered on top of the upper tang. Walnut stock without patchbox, with a strong inspector cartouche on the left side center of the butt. Scattered light surface rusting on the barrel and some dark spotting on the frame. Action functions well. The bore has strong rifling and shine, with some visible pitting. Antique., s/n 937xx |
