| 72 Caliber; 10% blue, fair bore, poor stock, 38'' barrel, Miquelet lock is a modern term used by collectors and curators for a type of firing mechanism used in muskets and pistols. It is a distinctive form of snaplock, originally as a flint-against-steel ignition form. This piece, like many others, has been converted to percussion, so it had a very long life. It has an almost half hexagonal barrel. It comes with its ramrod and has a decorative stock. Brass fittings and trigger guard. The stock has a couple cracks on left side above trigger guard as well as expected nicks, dings and compression dents. The hammer is cracked. The bore has patina. ANTIQUE., |
