| 52 Caliber; 15% blue, excellent bore, very good+ stock, 30'' barrel, MODEL 1860 SPENCER U.S. NAVY CONTRACT RIFLE IN ANTIQUE VERY GOOD CONDITION. THE BLUING ON THE BARREL HAS TURNED PATINA, THE BARREL BANDS THOUGH RETAIN MOST OF THEIR BLUING AS DOES THE LOCK PLATE. THE RECEIVER AND HAMMER SHOWS REMNANTS OF CASE COLORS. THE BORE IS MIRROR BRIGHT WITH EXCELLENT RIFLING. THE STOCK IS SOLID SHOWING LIGHT SCRATCHES AND DINGS. THE TOP OF THE RECEIVER IS ROLL MARKED "SPENCER REPEATING-RIFLE CO. BOSTON MASS. PAT'D MARCH 6, 1860." THIS RARE SPENCER RIFLE IS 1 OF 800 DELIVERED TO THE U.S.NAVY AND IS IN REMARKABLY NICE CONDITION WITH THE RIBBED BAONET LUG ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE BARREL., s/n 4xx |
