| 45-70 GOVT; 92% blue, excellent bore, very good+ stock, 32.5'' barrel, Original blued finish, casehardened breechblock marked "U.S./MODEL/1884". Walnut stock with sharp SWP/1891 inspector cartouche on the left side. Strong circled script P firing proof on the bottom of the grip. Fixed front sight, adjustable Buffington rear sight. US marked buttplate with trap for cleaning rod sections. One piece trigger guard. V, P and eagleshead proofs over the left side of the barrel chamber. "A" stamped on top of the barrel chamber. In overall excellent condition. Action functions well, bright bore.Includes consignors data sheet. This rifles receiver serial number falls into the Model 1879 range, indicating it was upgraded to the 1888 rod bayonet rifle pattern. Antique, s/n 2064xx |
