| 54 Cal; 20% blue, fair bore, good stock, 21'' barrel, Breech loading percussion, utilizing a paper cartridge, the chamber is loaded by lowering a lever on the underside secured by a hinged latch. Standard features include brass buttplate with squared tang, iron loading lever doubles as a trigger guard, single brass band, single leaf hinged sight, saddle ring on left side is attached to a small hook, 5 lands and groove rifling. Marks on top of barrel "STARR ARMS CO. YONKERS N.Y.". Mark on rear of breech "STARR'S PATENT. / SEPT. 14th 1858." Mark on lock "STARR ARMS CO. / YONKERS, N.Y." Serial number is visible when the loading lever is extended. Antique., s/n 61xx |
