| 6.5x53mmR; good bore, good stock, 24'' barrel, Portuguese contract manufactured in Austria. Original finish has aged and faded to light patina overall. Walnut stock and handguard dark with oil soaking. Non-matching proper straight handle bolt and stock. Original leather sling in good condition and cleaning rod present. Fixed front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated to 1800 meters. Stamped on the left side of the receiver "STEYR 1896". The Portuguese Crest appears on top of the receiver chamber. Serial numbered on the right side of the receiver. Faint but visible Portuguese Crest on the right side of the stock butt. CAI import marked on the left side of the receiver ring, mis-marked as an M1893 Roumanian". The bore shows strong rifling, dark in the grooves. The metal has minor pitting along the wood lines and on the exposed barrel., s/n B3xx |
