| 22 LONG RIFLE; 94% blue, excellent bore, very good stock, 20 5/8'' barrel, This Steyr produced single shot bolt action rifle chambered for 22 Long Rifle appears to be a scaled down variation of the Steyr M1929 Columbian contract Mauser rifles and/or the German G.29(o) Luftwaffe contract rifle. OAL is 39.5 inches. These rifles are scarce with only a few kinown in collections. Apparently they were not produced for the Austriuan military and were possibly produced for contract sales. Little is known about production and usage. Original blued finish, barrel "in the white", mounted in a walnut stock and handguard. Fitted for both bottom and side sling mounting. Matching serial number on bright finished bolt. Fixed inverted V front sight with hood. Tangent rear sight graduated for 15-200 meters. The receiver is grooved and matted. The Steyr target trademark logo is stamped on top of the receiver chamber. The left side of the receiver is marked "6M/M N544 35". The 35 is possibly the date of manufacture. Stacking rod similar to the DSM type. Unit marking disc on the right side of the buttstock.
