| 18mm; fair bore, good stock, 39.75'' barrel, Early Swiss conversion to breech loader for the then new metallic cartridges. Using the Milbank Amsler system. Lock is of Belgian manufacture from the original M1817 musket. Swiss halmarked +/E proofs on many of the parts. Number on top of the barrel and bottom of the breechblock are not matching, if they were supposed to be. Walnut stock, which has been refinished at some point leaving some overhang on metal/wood fit, especially at the buttplate. Note the routed area on the right side of the stock butt which identifies this particular model. The action functions fine. Original "in the white" metal finish with some light spotting. Original tulip headed ramrod. Th4e bore has strong rifling, frost throughout with light pitting., s/n Z66xx |
