| 22 LONG RIFLE; 92% blue, excellent bore, very good stock, 26'' barrel, The Thuringen "Greenheart" manufactured DSM rifles were produced by a consortium of firearms makers which included Waffengenossenschaft and Venus Waffenwerk firms, and later Hermann Weirauch, Heinrich Diem, Franz Schmidt, Bolte und Anschutz and Berhard Paatz. These makers teamed up to produce and assemble the DSM training rifles for the Reichswehr Ministry. Nicknamed "Greenheart" due to the consortiums logo which included a large green heart logo. Original blued finish. Walnut stock and handguard. Un-numbered bolt. Fixed inverted V front sight. Tangent rear sight graduated 25-200 meters. Stamped on top of the receiver chamber with the Greenheart consortium logo. Stamped on the left side of the barrel with the caliber designation, serial number and crown/N and Nitro proofs. The left side of the receiver is marked with manufacturer "WAFFENGENOSSENSCHAFT THURINGEN eGmbH / ZELLA-MEHLIS". The right side of the receiver is stamped "Deutsches Sportmodell". Crown/B, U proofs and the serial number are located on the right side of the receiver, crown/B, U and G proofs on the right side of the barrel. In overall Good-Very Good condition showing some finish wear and handling. Original stacking rod. This example has a couple modifications: lower band has been cut in half with a band with bottom swivel which appears to be from a GEW98 rifle. Sling swivel and base of unknown origin fitted onto the bottom of the butt. Mechancially fine. The bore is bright and clean., s/n 2xx |
