| 54 Cal; good bore, good stock, 33'' barrel, Round barrel, finish worn to gray with some dark spotting and pitting around the bolster area. Walnut stock with brass mounts. Lock marked on side "TRYON / US" and at the rear vertically "PHILADA/PA/1848". Altered for socket bayonet, front sight filed down, blade installed on band, dovetailed V notched rear sight. Faint inspector cartouche on the left side stock flat. "US" stamped on buttplate tang. "JH" inspector initials over the left side of the barrel. Later variant steel ramrod. The upper bandspring is missing the nib for the hole in the band. The lock functions fine. Antique, |
