| 45 COLT; 96% blue, excellent bore, excellent stock, 24.5'' barrel, 1873 Sporting Rifle with Octagonal Barrel, Uberti, Imported by Taylors & Co. Lever Action with Full Length Tubular Magazine. The top of the barrel has TAYLORS & CO WINCHESTER VA. / A. UBERTI MADE IN ITALY and 45 COLT. The bottom of the receiver is marked CAT 4722, and the lower tang has A. UBERTI – ITALY and the S/N W26467. The upper tang has MODEL 1873 The front sight is a blade dovetailed into the top of the barrel. The rear sight is a semi-buckhorn elevator sight with a tiny “U” notch at the bottom. The magazine, barrel, forend nose cap, dust cover, lever and loading gate are blued; the receiver and hammer are cased colored. This rifle retains about 96% of its metal finish. The edges of the barrel are sharp. The case coloring on the receiver has some wear on the left side plate and the front edge of the receiver. The stocks are two-piece hardwood with a reddish-brown lacquered finish. There are no cracks or chips in the wood and the wood to metal fit is excellent. The LOP measures 13 1/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stocks rate in excellent condition., s/n W264xx |
