| In the original wooden storage chest. The instrument is in excellent condition. The number "475049-1" is cast on top of the metal optic housing, and is marked "U.S.N. BU SHIPS / TELESCOPIC ALIDADE MK III N 10578 / 1944". The rubber eyepiece is excellent and supple. The optics are clear, there are a few tiny black specks visible. The adjustment function smoothly. The wooden chest has a plate attached to the front which is marked with the model and serial number which matches that on the instrument. The plate is also marked with a contract number and 1944 date. Manufactured by Kollmorgen Optical Corporation, 2 Franklin Avenue, Brooklyn, N.Y. The oak box is in excellent condition with only minor scuffs and scratches, and retains most of the original protective varnish finish, with the original brass hinges and other fittings., |
