| 7.5X53.5MM; 89% blue, very good bore, good stock, 21.75'' barrel, Very rare Swiss cavalry issue M1893 carbine with a Mannlicher straight pull bolt action design. One of approximately 7750 produced by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1898. Not many of these survived in original configuration due to hard use and even intentional damage as they were not well received by troops they were issued to. Serial number 4798 with a matching serial number bolt, magazine and forend nose cap. 6 round detachable box magazine. Swiss military proofed, +/S and =/V inspector halmarks on top of the reciever. Blued finish showing wear on high points and edges. Walnut stock and handguard with strong Cross in Shield proofs on the right butt and top of the handguard. 1/2" tight crack on top of the stock behind the receiver tang and a 1" crack on top of the handguard at the receiver. Drift adjustable front sight blade. Tangent rear sight graduated for 1200 meters with a flip up 400 meter blade. Original leather sling. The bore is bright with strong rifling, some visible minor corrosion. Muzzle=7.53. Antique., s/n 47xx |
