| 44 Caliber; good bore, very good grips, 2.5'' barrel, Matched pair of English muff pistols c.1830's-1840's in antique fine condition. The originally bright blued barrels have faded with some dark spotting. Frames are of brass, both engraved on the left "W.TAYLOR" and on the right "BEVERLY", and are floral leaf and border engraved. British proofed on the bottom of the frame. Smoothbored screw barrels. Grips are fine checkered with silver diamond inlay on the back. Folding triggers and hammer lock safeties. One pistols action functions as it should. The others hammer will not hold at full cock and the nipple is an obvious replacement. |
