| 44-40 WCF; 70% blue, very good bore, good stock, 21'' barrel, Rare lettered rifle with factory 21 inch heavy profile round barrel. Manufactured 1881. Special order Deluxe rifle with a blued barrel. Half magazine tube. Silver blade front sight. Semi-buckhorn elevation adjustable rear sight. Color case hardened action with an adjustable set trigger. Some visible case color with silvering on the action. Oil finished checkered 2X select walnut stock with shotgun butt. Stamped on top of the barrel in two lines "WINCHESTER'S- REPEATING-ARMS. NEW HAVEN . CT." / KING'S-IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED-MARCH 29, 1866. OCTOBER 16, 1860.". Sling swivels added at some point, the swivel and base once soldered to the bottom of the barrel is missing, leaving an area of residue. Some light surface rusting pretty much overall on the barrel with some spottng on the action. Spots of pitting on the buttplate. Antique., s/n 621xx |
