| 45-70 Government; 85% blue, good bore, very good stock, 32'' barrel, 1st Model Musket with original blued finish, casehardened frame and buttplate, mounted in a walnut stock, forend with two spring kept barrel bands. Cleaning rod present. Fixed front sight with a Buffington rear sight. Marked on top of the round barrel "-MANUFACTURED BY THE- / -WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A.-". Patent date stamped on the lower tang "PAT. OCT. 7th 79". Caliber designation stamped on top of the barrel breech. In overall very good plus condition. There is some minor spotting on the frame and the wood has scattered small dings and scratches. There are tiny dings on top of the barrel around the bands. The action functions well. The bore shows a bit of frost, with strong sharp rifling., s/n 687xx |
