| 45-90 WCF; excellent bore, very good stock, 23 5/8'' barrel, Manufactured in 1887. Full octagon barrel with fixed front and buckhorn rear sights. Rear sight is missing the thumb slider for elevation adjusting. Unmarked tang mounted folding peep sight. Plain walnut stock with crescent butt. Blued finish barrel mixing with patina. Full length tube magazine with thin finish. Receiver is bright. Caliber designation is marked over the right side of the barrel chamber area. The top of the barrel is marked "-MANUFACTURED BY THE- / -WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A.-". The lower tang is marked with the patent dates in two lines "PAT. OCT. 14. 1884. / JAN. 20. 1885". Serial number is stamped on the end of the lower tang. The right side of the receiver has a small area of minor pitting above the loading gate. Wood appears to have been lightly refinished. Markings remain crisp and clear. Mechanically fine with a clean sharp bore., s/n 116xx |
