| 30-40 Krag; 90% blue, excellent bore, very good stock, 22'' barrel, Manufactured in 1902. Original blue finish, mounted in fancy checkered walnut. Original fixed Lyman beaded front sight. No rear barrel sight, factory holes with plug screws present. Lyman adjustable rear receiver mounted peep sight. Ebony forend tip. Shotgun butt with original checkered blued steel buttplate. With the original and a copy of the Winchester Gun Museum factory letter dated 1975. The letter states the gun listed as rifle, caliber .30, fancy checkered stock, oil finish, rubber buttplate, Lyman front and receiver sights. Shipped Feb 14 1902, returned for rework June 30, 1902. Assume the gun was returned to have the steel buttplate fitted. All markings and oval proofs are crisp and clear. Most finish wear is on edges of the receiver, there are handling marks and scratches on the receiver and some scattered tiny spots of surface rust mainly on the left side of the receiver. The wood is sound and original. Mechanically excellent with a bright sharp bore. Shipped in a plastic hard case. C&R/FFL, s/n 338xx |
